Archaeological tour













Day 1 
Arrival in Sofia and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour of Sofia ( the St.Nedelya church, the Rotunda of St.George and remains from the ancient town Ulpia Serdika, Ethnographic museum / the Royal palace in the past/, Russian church, the church of St.Sofia, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral ( the biggest Orthodox church on Balkan peninsula ),the National Theater, the National Parliament).Overnight in Sofia.

Day 2 
After the breakfast tour to the famous Rila Monastery (the biggest and most prestigious monastery. Founded in the 10th century by the monk hermit John of Rila. Included in UNESCO list of world cultural and historical heritage). Optional lunch in local restaurant /3 course menu/ with fresh mountain trout.
Return to Sofia and overnight.

Day 3 
Breakgfast. Drive to Koprivshtitza museum-town. Walking guided tour of Koprivshtitza through the narrow cobbled streets-looking at the picturesque houses with their exquisite verandahs, numerous vaults, columns and frescos all surrounded by high stone walls. Interior visits houses of Oslekov , Lutov , the Assumption church. Optional lunch in local tavern / 3 course menu /. Afternoon visit the Thracian temple near the village of Starosel / 5 c.BC / and Hissar town with well preserved fortress walls. (4C). Drive to Plovdiv and accommodation at hotel. Overnight stay in Plovdiv.

Day 4 
After the breakfast city tour of Plovdiv : visit the ancient Theater (interior visit ), Ethnographic museum ( interior visit), house of Lamartin , the church of St. St. Constantine and Elena ( build in 337 in honor of Emperor Constantine and his mother Elena ) ( interior visit). Afternoon drive to Kardzali town to visit the Perperikon archaelogical complex. Return to Plovdiv .Overnight. 

Day 5
After the breakfast drive to "Valley of the Thracian Rulers",visit the Thracian tomb in Kazanluk town and mausoleum in the Ostrusha mound and the Arsenalka tomb. Drive to visit the Memorial church in Shipka town. Departure to Black Sea coast and stop in Stara Zagora town to see the neolitic dwellings and the ruins of the roman city of Augusta Trayana. Drive to Bourgas for accommodation and overnight.

Day 6  
Breakfast. Sightseeing Nessebar (including in UNESCO list of world cultural monuments in 1983, In the Middle Ages it was known as the Town of Churches for its more than 80 churches and chapels many of which survive to the present day ). Departure to Varna. Visit Archaeological Museum, housing the oldest gold treasure in the world (5th millenium BC), and the Roman Thermae. Overnight in Varna .

Day 7 
Breakfast. On the way to Veliko Turnovo visit the complex Pobiti Kamani, Madara National Historical Reserve ( unique relief of the Madara Horseman, moulded 23 m. high in the rocks listed in UNESCO worlds cultural and historical heritage ) the Thracian Tombs near the village of Sborianovo ( dating back to the 3rd c BC) and the village of Sveshtari ( 4–3rd C.BC included in UNESCO world’s cultural and historical heritage list). Arrival in Sevlievo. Overnight

Day 8 
Breakfast. Day tour for sightseeing Veliko Turnovo ( Tzarevets fortress, Samovodska market street, Revival and Constituent Assembly Museum). Afternoon visit the Arbanassi village ( the Kostantsaliev house , the Nativity church / the earliest Arbanassi church, the compositions of “The day of Judgement” and “Nativity” were completed in 1597/ and drive to the ruins of Roman city Nikopolis ad Istrum ) 20 km. North from V.Turnovo. Return to Sevlievo for overnight.

Day 9 
Breakfast .Drive to Tryavna and visit the most impressive sights such as (Shkoloto, Daskalov House, the Tryavna icon-painting school museum).On the way to Sofia visit the Ethnographic complex Etura ( unique open-air museum of Bulgarian crafts /)and Sueva Dupka cave - one of the most beautiful and rich in stalactites and stalagmites. Arrival in Sofia and accommodation at hotel. Overnight

Day 10 
Breakfast.Visit to the Boyana Church (UNESCO monument), National History Museum and Archaeological Museum in Sofia. Free time in the afternoon for leisure. Folklore evening  in folk-style restaurant with a typical dinner and traditional Bulgarian dances and songs. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 11
Breakfast . Free time and transfer to the airport for departure.
